Advanced Retouching Techniques in Photoshop with Josh Withers

Course description:
Participants in this workshop use their own images to learn the professional’s approach towards non-destructive image making.
The outcome will be understanding the techniques involved for flawless image enhancements.

Topics include image enhancement strategies, skin retouching and enhancements, approaching product photography with a Photoshop mind, advanced image compositing techniques, Photoshop CS5's masking tools, a thorough exploration of all the layer attributes, advanced coloring correcting and color enhancement techniques, understanding Channels, Paths, History, Actions and how to optimize your computer to maximize Photoshop's performance.

The class is for amateurs or advanced amateurs. No portfolio is necessary however this workshop is for those proficient in Photoshop who are looking to learn advanced skills, techniques and capabilities, while focusing on creativity.

Students are encouraged to bring files in need of restoration, a variety of portrait and landscape photos, film scans (if possible) and digitally captured RAW files, personal projects and enthusiasm.

If possible, please bring a digital SLR camera. I would like to spend part of a day out in the field collecting images to use in class.

*Wacom tablets are provided for a fee however if you prefer your own, you are welcome to bring it.
